To remove the broken tiles, you need a knife through which, you will remove the binding material. Keep yourself concentrated on the lines so that you do not spoil the other adjacent tiles. Ceramic tiles often catch scratches easily, so keep a watch on where your knife is working.

Once you removed the binding material and the damaged tile looks separated from adjacent ones, hit it lightly using a hammer. Constant heating will cause the lower binding to release the tile. If you find it is not working, you may further break the damaged tile and continue hammering lightly on each broken part. Eventually with the help of the knife and hammer, the tile pieces will come out. You can then easily fix a new tile in the space.
